Second Week of Term Four
The Downlands Dog causes a bit of fun - does not always act as Josita want.
We have discovered that one of the girls has diabetes and also needs an ear operation to improve hearing.
For the two boys who are joining us next year, we need to get a full medical check up now. Once they get to Downlands it is best if they are hard at the study.
We are working on fund raising to pay for the fares. It costs about $250 to get a kid from Nguiu to Brisbane, and because there is need to get home and back at the end of each term, it costs $2000 per kid per year for travel - or $10,000 for everyone.
We are sending out letters asking for help so we can pay for these fares.
The St Vincent de Paul Society is paying roughly $1500 per kid for clothing - so they have the school uniform, clothes for the cold of Toowoomba and other needs so a kid feels good among others in the Boarding School. The People of the Kenmore Parish continue to be supportive.
