Term 4, 2008 - half way mark

I had the hip replacement and could not drive for 6 weeks and have only just got up to see the kids. They are fine, working hard, dominating in AFL and impressing everyone.
Downlands heard everything following the Monivae visit and it has been good for the teachers. The lady in charge of Studies at Downlands is going to come up early next month (that is her photo above)

She comes so she understand where they come from and so she can better design courses to help them. It would be good for her to meet Danny Munkara was at Downlands 50 years ago. Downlands needs to appreciate that the kids gain heaps even when they don't stay that long.

The kids wanted to come down to Brisbane this weekend. I told them to pay the $20 in the bus to come down, I will meet them at Roma Street, look after them and drive them back. Bit tough, but we have wasted $2000 on empty plane seats this last six months - we are tight on money with the fares being more expensive and kids have to learn that money does not grow on trees.
