2009
Mark, Wilfred, Eleesha, and Isadore arrived at Downlands on Friday 9.00am - they went through the clinic and then had a sleep so they would be fit and ready for a good weekend.
We are organising with Brisbane Lions for the kids to get to see games at the Gabba during the Easter break. It is not worth coming home after a short term, so we will have trips to the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and other activities.
It is great to have Wilfred back, the kids at Downlands were genuinely excited to see him - the photo is of him with his mate from The Sudan We will explore the option of TAFE for Wilfred, Eleesha and Josetta
Josetta, Bonita, Selina and Noreen came the week later. Same process, same tiring journey!
Travel on the Darwin Red Eye is tiring trip, but they have a few days to recover. Laurie Reedy from StVdeP Toowoomba makes sure they are all warm. I visited the first Sunday and will be back visiting next week.

I will post further photos after the Sunday visi - especially of Josetta and Noreen.
Meanwhile I need the photos of parents so I can raise money to pay for the fares.
It is costing $4000 for each kid for this year. People are pleased to help Tiwi, but I need photos of the parents - because they are helping you! .
We are asking people to give $100 each and we need about 40 supporters for each Tiwi kid - the money goes to StVdeP, the donors get a tax deduction and StVdeP pays the bills.
Parents, your job is to support your kid hard, for at this time they feel terribly homesick.
It is hard to be so far from home and with people you do not know.
Downlands is a great place for the kids so tell them to keep praying until homesickness passes.
